Carers to be recognised in national final of The Great British Care Awards
An annual awards ceremony that pays tribute to some of the nation’s most dedicated carers is about to ramp its search up a gear.
The Great British Care Awards are a serious a regional events throughout England that celebrate the very best practice in the care sector.
These awards are an opportunity to applaud the committed men and women who strive to look after others, many of them doing so for free.
Each year, the crème de la crème of the care sector are nominated by their peers, patients or perhaps their families for one of 21 award categories.
These categories represents all areas of the social care sector, whether it be older people, specialist services, residential, home or voluntary care.
Nominees range from frontline staff such as care workers and managers to people who have helped shape the sector in other ways such as innovation, training or development.
The nominees are then divided into geographical regions and judged before the winners of each region go head-to-head in the national finals.
Excitement is now beginning to build as the date is set for national judging, which is due to take place on 22 February, before a glittering awards ceremony at Birmingham ICC on 31 March.
